Who's Kurt?

My name is Kurt.  That's me!  I hope that was obvious.

I am what most of you will call a complete nut job.  I am one of those people who lives, eats, and breathes the healthy lifestyle.  My weekends are planned around training schedule mileage and races.  My idea of a "fun time" is running in a hurricane (Do what I say, not what I do!), researching training and nutrition journal articles, and searching out healthy food.

'Love what you do, do what you love.'

This is one of many mantras that I cannot get enough of.  As a youth in upstate NY, swimming was my life.  I went away to Boston for college, dropped athletics, and gained an in depth science background.  I came to Connecticut to continue the science path and ended up back amidst athletics, this time triathlon and running.

Now, I combine the two; a perfect combination of the curiosity to know how things work, the analytical nature to understand it and make it better, and the drive to put them into use.

DREAM.  BELIEVE.  ACHIEVE.

This is the foundation of my coaching and training philosophy.

DREAM.  Everyone lies awake at night, day dreams, or makes a wish upon a star for something they want to become.  Whether it's faster, thinner, stronger, healthier, or just a 'Rock Star,' there's something that we all want.

BELIEVE.  Once you know what you want, you have to believe that it's possible, not just possible for the universe, but possible for YOU!  You can't let any doubt get in the way of that belief.  You need to see the path that will lead you there and never lose focus.

ACHIEVE.  Here's where the perspiration comes into play.  You know what you want.  You know how to get it.  Now you need to do it.  There are bumps along the way, sure.  It's not going to be easy, sure.  But if you want it bad enough, you will do it.

I can help you with the second and third part, but the first part is all you.  I can't help you shape your dreams.  But I can help you see the path in-between you and your dream and I can show you the way.  That's why I do what I do.  Seeing someone achieve their goals and transforming as a person is beyond words!

Happy Training,
Coach Kurt
